Though they're not cheap, they're not expensive, and I trust Rene and company. They've done well for my Burb. In Lafayette, Urban Suburban on Mt Diablo; 283-5212.

I am looking for a shop that can replace my transfer case. I will also need future engine work.
This is the first time I have had any problems with my 81 K5 besides brakes and tune ups. I can do all that myself.
    Thank you

A t-case is 6 or so bolts and a crossmember. Also, what leads you to believe that it needs replacing? t-cases are pretty stout.

If you are hell bent on having someone else do the work, Santa Clara Truck Wreckers is a pretty good one stop 4x4 shop.

When my rear u joint went out, the drive shaft spun around and cracked the nose of the t-case, where the slip yoke slides in(np208). The t-case is probably fine, but I can't get the housing. I have also never taken apart a t-case.
    Thank you /forums/images/graemlins/k5.gif

Give Petes Gear Shop, in Hayward a call 510-537-9446. We can do the t-case.
