I just talked to the guy thats building my tranny, the bad news is he's not sure when he can get to it, because of his recent promotion to service manager, he has NO time at all. The good news is actually a 2 part, (1) He is gonna refund my money and let me take it elsewhere. (2) I was gettin leary of having him do it again anyhow. No man should have to pull a tranny as much as I have unless they work at a tranny shop. So now it goes to the guy that does my dads trannys for his shop. I was gonna take it to him at 1st but the guy I had doing it had a real good rep.,so I don't know whats gone wrong other than there is a prob w/ the case hes been rebuilding. So wish me luck this time w/ a whole new tranny and a new rebuilder. I was hoping to put it in this weekend and run out any bugs next week and go play the following weekend, maybe the weekend after that now. Who knows at this point!!

can ya tell I'm gettin frustrated!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I was in a similar situation.. I had to pull mine out twice and still never worked right. Guy finally said he would give me my money back. That was a year ago. I have had to go to his shop and harass him for my money, 50 here, 100 there. The A$$hole still owes me 100. Take my advise, get it all in writing. Just don't get screwed out of your money. My 2 cents.

    You call that dirty!?

Sorry to hear that. Sometimes you just have to have some kind of written guarantee, even if the price is higher. Good luck.

Well the guy that did it was the tranny guy at the dealership I worked at. He himself can't figure out whats up, like he said he learned to rebuild trannys on the th350! He did it at his house so there was no receipt or warranty to be had in writing. He has bent over backwards to help me until now, and I understand that he doesn't have time w/ the promotion and all. The shop I 'll take it to is the one my dad uses for the shop he owns. my dad has used him for about 12 yrs and has never had any real problems w/ him. I shoulda taken it to him in the 1st place!! I really wish the guy that has been doing it had told me he was too busy w/ work and all 3 weeks ago. I could of been enjoying it rather than looking at it in my driveway!!

If I ever take mine out I think I'm going to try to put a manual in. Notice I said try--I don't have much experience working with them and I've never swapped an auto for a manual. I'll try though. I'm sick of pulling automatics. I think I've done 6 or 8 this year, none of them mine.

Damn Steve, looks like the saga continues. Sounds like the one guy is qualified to come out here and work in Oklahoma. Let us know when you get that bad boy back on the road.

<font color=purple> Hang in there, Steve ...........I'm in the same boat as you .......... It's been out of commission for over 2 years now and it's got a ways to go yet......... I bought the thing and 2 months later , the engine blew on me ........ been spending most of my time just getting it on the road again and now that the engine is good to go , I decided to do some interior work and found some nasty rust so now I'm trying to get that taken care of with having never dealt with rust before so it's taking some time .......... I have all the other stuff I need to finish the job but have to complete this first ..............Oh well, when I'm done it will be good to know I did it myself and it 's done right !!!!!

I blame the truck man! It is just a vibrating truck LOL. But hey I don't have to pay a quarter for it like at the hotels ... LMAO [IMG] It's pretty funny cause I knew the rear was in some pain when I bought it, but figured I was doing a lift and axle swap anyways... well when I ripped into the stock rear just for the heck of it found a slightl worn inner pinion bearing and a decently worn carrier bearing.... now this 12B... well 3rd diff is a charm? LOL... I only hope it is a charm enough to last till I rebuild the 12B w/ olcker or posi
