Good or bad shocks?

    A friend of mine gave me some Skyjacker shocks. The problem is that they dont decompress on their own. You can compress them and decompress them, but I thought shocks decompressed automatically after you compress them. These shocks have never been used!!!! Are these bad shocks???

    probably not...my shocks dont decompress on their own...if i am right(as i think i am) the leaf springs on your truck are what actually pull them back out to their normal length...

    like rebel said the spring pulls the shock back into place.the shock just slows down the up and down movement of the spring to dampen it and not bounce

    Thanks a lot guys!!! I wasnt sure because the shocks Im taking off the truck now decompress! It was making me wonder!! Thanks again!!
