    Goodbye 1/2ton & 35\'s... Hello D60/14FF & 38\'s!

I gotta post some pictures.... I now have 40 miles on my 1 ton running gear. /forums/images/graemlins/blush.gif
Spent the weekend taking out my open D44/ locked 12 bolt & 35's.... and swapping in my 1 ton axles & 38's. /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif
    [IMG]
Picked up the bare axle housings and parts about a year ago and now EVERYTHING is brand new in the two axles and rebuilt by myself. Started off by shaving both axles for maximum ground clearance. Most parts were beadblasted then painted..
The D60 has an ARB, 4:56's, 35 spline outer kit, 1350 yoke, ORD crossover steering, Rockstomper Rockrod, WTO hydro assist, TonyP's 4 degree D60 ubolt plates, and willyswanter's custom fab'd BEEFY 1/2" plate diff cover.
The 14ff rear is detroit locked, disk braked, 4:56 gears, 1410 yoke... Jethrobuilt BEEFY rear diff cover is supposed to be here tommorow. /forums/images/graemlins/thumb.gif Also installed all new extended steel braided brakelines.
Went with some 16x10 alloy rims for the bling cause i liked my last ones... Grooved my own 38x13x16 TSL swampers... thanks zakk for letting me borrow the groover. /forums/images/graemlins/thumb.gif /forums/images/graemlins/k5.gif
    [IMG]
Figured i'd drive around for a few days, see if theres anything weird like deathwobble, and then put on the hydro ram on.. Already have the tabs welded on the IOR diff cover and my 1.5" rockrod clamp.
...More testing and pictures to come...
Its going to be totally different with 38's, a front ARB locker, hydro assist.... etc...
Now i just need to take the sawzall to the fenders... and then some skidplates, rocksliders, tuned port fuel injection... /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif /forums/images/graemlins/k5.gif /forums/images/graemlins/pimp1.gif

Awesome pics and nice job you did there, Ryan! /forums/images/graemlins/cool.gif /forums/images/graemlins/thumb.gif

Gotta a quick question though: where or who made the front u-bolts? I need some that are longer to fit zero-rates. /forums/images/graemlins/thinking.gif

    Re: Goodbye 1/2ton & 35\'s... Hello D60/14FF & 38\'s!

Thanks. /forums/images/graemlins/thumb.gif I got the front and rear ubolts from ORD...
Front kit came with the 3 ubolts and 2 studs. The studs ended up being too long without the zero rates, and i bought some grade 8 bolts to thread into the housing.
For some reason the washers and lock nuts in the hardware kit didn't work, they were the wrong size- too small, and i had to go buy some. /forums/images/graemlins/confused.gif /forums/images/graemlins/ignore.gif

    questions:

    1. Can you still do burnout videos with this new setup?

    2. What about Dune Jumping videos?

    3. Is that really a D60, or a boarded-out D44?

    4. Do you know how much cool stuff you could have done to your Camaro with all that money?

    5. Will that slut-girl be taking new provacative photos on your "improved" vehicle?

    6. How come NoSmog isn't as cool as you?

    1: Yes. /forums/images/graemlins/wink.gif /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif
2: Maybe so, everyone says my truck jumping days are over now, but we should plan a pismo trip and find out... Memorial Day next year its awn!
3: Alright ya busted me... I bored my D44 .016" over and now its a 60.
4: Yes, My friends rub it in that I could have back halved my camaro, full tubbed & caged, custom front clip with coil overs, and 4 wheel disks, be running 10's easy.... But instead i blew all my money to go 4 wheelin instead of to the dragstrip for now.
5: Shhh! /forums/images/graemlins/wink.gif Maybe, but i'm always accepting new applications to fill the different positons. /forums/images/graemlins/thinking.gif /forums/images/graemlins/rotfl.gif
6: 'Cause i swapped all my stuff over in one weekend and its back on the road again... Nosmog has to take several months.
