    Picked up a 1993 chevy K2500 Silverado with a 6.5TD and 4L80E. Its been in a wreck but I drove it home. Wooo Hooo...what an awesome find, I can get the 78 back on the road, along with a dana 60 in the back yard. Oh the best part - $1600 with 125K miles on it. It runs perfect. It looks like its been in a demolishion derby, but it drives beautifully.

    Just found a '93 K2500 reg cab with 6.5TD/4L80E in the local salvage yard. Truck is complete, rough shape with 240K on it. Owner not in today to get a price for it.

    Somehow, Mark, I don't think it will be as cheap as yours /forums/images/graemlins/frown.gif.
    The also have a grey 3rd seat for my sub, about $150. This way I can take out the aftermarket leather 3rd seat.

    What on earth do you need a 6.5 for?? I thought you were going 5.9?

    Uh, yeah /forums/images/graemlins/confused.gif.
    Just looking for parts for my conversion. Looked at 4 more 5.9s yesterday. Interested in the 4L80E, TCM and harness. JET will reprogram it for different shift points for about $250. Going to check with JET on their stand alone system and find out if it is programmable. If so I might be better off using a programable unit to experiment with shift rpms.

    Then there's the option of running a NV4500, but not likely for a cruiser. Now if I keep the '90 dodge I might go manual for pulling. Looking at intercoolers right now, seeing what might fit.

    Have a bare blazer frame that I'm gonna mock up the CTD in. Will buy a new core support, set in engine and trans. Modify for all coolers and what not. Hopefully I can have the swap done in 2-3 days when I have everything lined up, that's a ways off yet. Haven't even decided what CTD I will run yet.

    Say now.......what happened to the roof job /forums/images/graemlins/ignore.gif

    Wow you must be serious about this swap! I've noticed the 4L80Es are starting to show up for a little more reasonable prices.

    Just missed a 93 6.5TD/4L80E harness and computer on ebay for 150!!!

    The roof job is quite a fiasco. But the punch list is getting shorter - just can never seem to get it all done before they mess up something, fixing something else /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif

    Flat roofs -> /forums/images/graemlins/frown.gif

    I'm flying out tomorrow to New Mexico for a job interview at a different power plant!!! Will check in when I get back on Thursday.

    Good luck on the interview. Can't be a very big market for nuclear techs /forums/images/graemlins/crazy.gif.

    Got the 3rd seat for $100.
    They want $1800 for the entire truck.
    But.........I found out the entire salvage yard is for sale /forums/images/graemlins/rotfl.gif. Even my wife thinks I should look into it /forums/images/graemlins/thumb.gif.
