<font color=purple> This Blazer would be worth it if it had quadraphonic sound or the entire back was full of crack cocaine !

<font color=purple> It is very clean, but I still would rather spend 15,000 on mine and make it bulletproof !

Automatice locking hubs? I don't think so. Those didn't apear till 80's and that truck I would lay odds on has a 203 so it's full time and no hubs at all Leather seats in 78? again I don't think it was available...looks like vynal to me. Leather at that age would be cracked. Not to mention if it had leather it sure would have power windows not manual as is clearly visable in the pictures of the interior. No power lock buttons either but it lists them. This looks like a major scam!

Buyer Beware cause eBay doesn\'t give a flip!

Well I wrote to eBay about how misleading this add was and here is their blow off and my reply to that.

Well I don't know how much clearer it get's than pictures. Like I pointed out, the Add says "power windows and locks". The picture of the interrior clearly shows a manual window crank and no power lock switch. I gave you links to veiw original sales brocures from the 78 sales information that would show that Leather seats were not an option. That link can also give you information on when Auto locking hubs first showed up since it has almost every year brocher out. Hope somebody that is less observent than me doesn't get ripped off.
Most of what I read in your policys that you provided links to that would concern this is that misinformation in regards to what your selling is a no no. To be quite honest I doubt that anyone would bid on the truck because his price is so unrealistic.
But what ever you say :) Guess it's buyer beware.

&gt; I would like to report what I feel is a fraudulant seller. The item in
    &gt; question is Item # 597087840 78 chevy blazer.
&gt; The add list that this vehicle has power windows, power locks, leather
    &gt; seats and automatic hubs.
&gt; I am big blazer buff and own 2 and know quite a lot about these trucks
&gt; in particular the 73-80 model years. In fact I moderate the biggest
&gt; Blazer forum on the web found at the largest dedicated Blazer site on
&gt; the web and concidered by many as one of the most knowledgable people
&gt; around about these vehicles. www.coloradok5.com
&gt; It does not appear that any of the above listed options are on the
&gt; truck and some were not even available as a factory option as far as I
    &gt; know in 78.
&gt; Leather I do not believe was available. Also if it had leather even with
&gt; the low miles this seller claims, it would still be cracked and in bad
&gt; shape after 22 year. The seats appear intact and also appear to be
&gt; vinyl. If it had leather seats I would also think it would have the
&gt; power windows and locks that the add claims. If you look at the
&gt; interrior shot on the add you can clearly see the truck has manual
&gt; windows. The power lock switch would also be located next to the window
&gt; crank in the middle of the brushed aluminum trim pannel and be clearly
&gt; visable in that shot...it's not there. Power options also usualy came
&gt; with upgraded exterior trim packages that would have included two tone
&gt; paint. Again not there. This is different than the white top on the
&gt; truck. it would have a contrasting color down the side of the truck.
&gt; Auto locks I do not believe became an option till the early 80's. More
&gt; than likly this truck has no locking hubs at all. Most of these trucks
&gt; had full time 4wd and would be a solid drive hub just like both of my
&gt; trucks are. Nothing automatic about it. It is possible to convert this
&gt; truck to part time but the add clearly lists it as original. There is a
&gt; very rare option for a part time transfer case but again if it had that
&gt; the hubs would be the manual varity. None of the pictures are clear
&gt; enough to identify what hubs the vehicle has.
&gt; For further proof of what was available there are copies of the original
    &gt; sales brocues available here
    &gt; http://www.slosh.com/cars/brochures/blazer3.html
&gt; Sorry it just burns me up seeing this guy proclaiming this vehicle is
&gt; something that it is not and then asking a price that is even high if it
    &gt; was what he claimed.
&gt; I would like to atleast see this seller made to list the real options
&gt; this vehicle has. My guess it is a base model with 350 engine, TH350
&gt; transmisson, NP203 fulltime transfer case. The base interrior, tilt
&gt; steering a/c and it appears that it does have cruise control. It may
&gt; have a power tail gate window but this is not really the same as "Power
&gt; windows". Power windows would also include the passenger and driver door
    &gt; windows.
&gt; Thanks for reveiwing the add.

We've got a guy in town selling a '72 chevy pickup with 11,500 miles on it for $12,000. Still smells new and isn't poop brown like the 15 grand machine there. Nice shape and bad price.

E bay was pretty good when it first started out. But there sure are a lot of scammers on it now. I have heard and seen some real horror stories about stuff people have bought on there. People have bid on vehicles and drove many miles only to find a rusted hulk that in no way resembled what was pitcured.
A lot of times a seller will have many different log on names and will bid on his item to drive the price up You may actually be bidding aganst the seller or one on their firends. They can also write as many favoable comments as they want about themselvs.
My wife almost got ripped off royally on a sewing machine she bid on. Before we payed for it I checked the model number at a local sewing shop and found the machine was worth less than half of what the reserve was. I refused to pay. And politely told them why, and offered to pay what the machine was worth.
The seller sent a strongly worded e-male demanding paymen. Or else!
I e-mailed back wondering how much it would cost to see how far I could shove that machine up his A## and if I could rotate it while doing so.. Never heard from them again.
    Buyer Beware!

Re: Buyer Beware cause eBay doesn\'t give a flip!

I agree leather seats are not an option but Just being old does'nt mean they will be craked. My 57 buick roadmaster75, has leather seat trim and it is in very nice shape. Car has 52,000 original miles and has only had the chrome redone.
I have seen several brown blazers with the white top. Also 2 tone paint is an option not standed on up scale models. Also the truck does have the cheyenne interior, the base truck does not have the brused aluminum panels. Maybe the dude don't know the difference.between fulltime andmanual and auto hubs. Since you don't have to lock a hub on a 203 he may think auto. I have found if a seller makes a mistake if you email them and correct them they will update the item and are thankful. Did you try to email them? I highly doubt he is out to get anybody. I'm sure if you emailed him and let him know he would be happy because that could cause problem for him. Just because someone is selling somthing don't assume they are all knowing. I did have a 78 with white top and it was red.
I'm pretty sure up to early mid 80's tops were black or white.
personnaly have never seen an pre 81 with any color but black or white. but could be wrong. Not trying to get under anyones shorts just putting in my 2 cents. A gut in high school late 80's had a a silver and maroon blazer with a black top. And I once looked at a blue 75 with a white top. Top option for blazer up to 81 was the cheyanne no silverado.

The lady's 79 is loaded to the gills and wears factory "Midnight" paint scheme. That's black with silver sides.
My 75 was metalic blue with white sides. the 75 I been stripping parts off was Gold with white sides.
Still doesn't excuse stuff like the claim to have power windows and locks when you can clearly see the manual window crank and no power lock buttons on the interior shot.

Would hate to find out that is the pics he took when it was bought and not just a few days ago.. I have original pics of my 74 and it looks really good. What would stop me from posting them and saying it is a low mileage cream puff?

I thought I was wrong once,
    but I was mistaken
