I got approved for a home loan today. $135,000 at 5.4%. I'm pretty excited cause i'm sick of renting. I told the realtor that i want a shop, and if a house comes with it, thats fine too. Of course the wife didn't appreciate that. BUt, i think we will get a house with a shop so my broke down blazer can't have a home too.

Cool deal, can you actually buy a house for that kind of money there? We just paid $560,000 for a house here with no land to speak of.

Yeap, you can get a real nice house with land for that. I've been doing the ol house hunting on line and have came accrost alot of nice houses where I want too move to. (Omaha, Ne) Location has a big effect on prices of homes. For instance, [IMG] this house in Omaha, Ne. in a upper middle class neighborhood is listed for under $150,000.00 But that same house would cost close to $300,000.00 here in the Black Hills.

Holy CRAP.... If you have that kind of money to spend on a house and can't find anything decent, you're in the WRONG place.... Here in Cheyenne, a house like that would be HUGE, brand new, and on a few acres at least :D :D :D :D :D

where I live now you could get a decent house for probably $60,000 its crazy here. No land to speak of with a house like that but yeah. Back home its upwards of $250,000 for a decent house with no land a nd $400,000-500 with like half an acre.

I liked this one for the pole barn and big two car shop/garage. 5 acres of land and only $100k

    http://www.nothnagle.com/property/property.asp?PRM_MLSNumber=429357&PRM_MlsName=GRAR

or if your really rugged and like the whole farm thing

    http://www.nothnagle.com/property/property.asp?PRM_MLSNumber=500713&PRM_MlsName=GRAR

only $79k and you get 50 acres, 2500 square foot house, barns, etc...
only down side is it's really overgrown and house is concrete block
(think cool in summer but COLD.... in winter) Looks bad in picture but house is actually in pretty nice shape. Plus your 5 minutes from lake ontario if you like boating/jet-skiing
