Well I finally pulled my 350 out of my junky '85 K5 last Friday. I'm going to paint it first then add more goodies to it. I am going to paint the pulleys, brackets black. Then I am going to paint the block Ford Red. There was little to NO oil on the block. The only thing I am scared of is removing the Harmonic Balancer. Any tricks to do it? What tools, I don't want to harm my crank.
    Thanks
    Adam

There is a special puller for the harmonic balancer. I bought mine for about $10 and it can remove steering wheels too. AutoZone may have them on the "loan-a-tool" program. Remove the lower pully and the crank bolt, remove the balancer.

Why Ford red? That will cause a 25% decrease in horsepower! :haha: :haha: :haha:
