Well it is not brand new, but it is new to me! /forums/images/icons/smile.gif

It is an 89 GMC Heavy Half(6 lugger with 14SF in the rear). The truck was a friend of mines and I just drove to Jersey to pick it up this past weekend.

The truck has a 6" Pro-Comp lift, 35" BFG AT Ko's, 80's ralley wheels, 241, Rossler built 700r4(shifts hard!), 4.10's and the best part, a 383! *evil grin*

The specs on the 383 are:
    Manley Rods
    Scat 383 crank
    KB Hyperu Pistons
    Childs & Albert rings
    Trick Flow Twisted Wedge Heads
    etc.....

It is a long bed, regular cab... And the color is Blue, but it is a super dark blue that looks almost black........

Wooohoooo!!!!!!! I will try and get some pics up this week!

THanks! It does have some dents, dings and needs a little bodywork, but all in all it is a great truck!!!

Well at the moment the 4wd isn't working! /forums/images/icons/smile.gif THere is a switch in the t-case that turns it on and it is bad. I am getting another case whenever my buddy gets back here that has a good switch so I am not worried about it... Plus it will give me an extra 241! /forums/images/icons/wink.gif

Looks like your tow rig could about double as a trail rig!

I put some Turbo Blue in it last night! Man, I love the smell of that stuff!!!!!! I didn't play with the timing though. I figured since I cant run it all the time, I would just leave the timing alone so the next fill I dont have to mess with it again..

What is the difference, as far as your engine is concerned, with leaded and unleaded gasoline?

Well the engine has a high compression ratio which is somewhere around 11.5:1 so race fuel is a must.. As far as the leaded and unleaded, I should be running unleaded, but since the high compression, race fuel runs better in it and it is leaded. The only difference that I know of in an engine between one that is built to run leaded vs. and unleaded engine is the valve seats.

    And to add,

Leaded fuel WILL plug a catalytic convertor. /forums/images/icons/grin.gif

    Just my .02,
