As long as your truck isn't in there, or anything else valuable.

well i just got back from my work building, i went to see the damage it is a total loss right now they are estimating 3-4 million $'s in damage. we lost 14 tractor trailers, 12 forklifts and 34 motorized pallet jacks. we took a 14 foot boat with a 10 horse motor and drove through the warehouse to try and salvage things. so as of right now 535 burger kings are not getting any food delivered to them.

Now I feel bad for joking. I thought that you meant that there was just water on the roads. I hate floods. Did you have any damage?

Yeah, pretty bad flooding in that area. My Mom lives about 45 miles North of Binghamton, across the street from the Tiophnioga (sp?) River. I just got off the phone with her and the didn't get the 15' crests they had predicted. She actually came out of this very well, considering my brother & I hgad to replace most of her first floor last Apr due to flooding.

I wish all in this flooding area the best of luck. I know how hard it was for me last year trying to deal with this and help my Mom recover. The least of all was the drive there from AZ (brother) and CO (me) out just to evaluate damage, clear out entire house contents, and the tear up damage, reassess, and rebuild. All that in less than 7 days. :doah:

I guess I just didn't think of anywhere NY or upper East coast as a flood potential...

I'm guessing you work for Maines??? I've seen the pictures of the area but didn't hear about any businesses getting flooded out other than convenience stores and whatnot.

Well I think I'm out of a job because of the flood. I drive for Hobart Stone, and EVERYTHING was under water. A brand new 06 International tri-axle truck that I drive, that is huge by the way, the hood is over 6', and the water was up to the doors, so about 4'. That was on the edge of the road. They just sorta got back from a fire that took out the shop, and now this. They have a pit with a bunch of equipment, that was all under water. My mom has been in this area her entire life, grew up in Conklin, and has never seen this much flooding. Everything on Conklin ave was under water. My dads truck was parked at work, it's gone. Had water to the bottom of the windows. Water in the engine, trans, interior. But, he is not bitching by any means, he just lost a truck, other people lost it ALL. I have some pics, see if I can post them,,,

Here is a link to some pics, can't download them. The one with Mickey D's is on the other side of the river. When they get a hard rain, they might get some water in the parking lot, but never anything like this. They got about 5-6' of water.
