My upper shock bolt hole (pass side) on my Blazer has been gouged out, and the shock bolt currently used is an aftermarket piece with a 1/2" thread.

I am considering redrilling a hole in the frame, since the OEM shock mount (on the frame rail) is beyond repair.

find a piece of metal a little heavier than your frame, drill the appropriate size hole in it for the shock mount, or you could find a heavy gauge washer with the right size hole for the shock bolt, bolt it in place over the worn hole being sure to locate the bolt hole in the location of the bolt hole before it was worn out, then weld it in place so as to put the bolt hole back in place where it's supposed to be. you may have to do some grinding, flattening to get the replacement metal to lay flat on the frame.
