I don't know if I would waste my time with a gov lock. I had one in my 10 bolt until it exploded during a hard take off on the street. That was with 3.73's, I wouldn't risk putting a gov lock in with 4.10's or 4.56's unless they made some real progress with the 12 bolt govlock. My 10 bolt govlock sucked.

My Chevy isn't broken, its just out of gas.

Carrier breaks from Randy's Ring and Pinion web site:

    12 Bolt Truck 2.73 & down / 2.76 to 3.42 / 3.73 & up #

According to the chart listed here http://www.randysringandpinion.com/a-gm.html you can get 4.10's and 4.56's with extra thick ring gears that will fit your existing carrier. [IMG] But since you have to go inside anyway to change the gears, you might as well think about installing a better posi or a locker while you're in there.
