Alright guys, what's the deal here:

    http://cgi.govliquidation.com/auction/view?auctionId=1004977

Looks like it's in fantastic shape, condition code doesn't make it seem so. Said it runs but the batts are dead. Pretty sure this would make the ultimate tow rig if a title and RV type of deal could be worked out for it.

What are the numerous giant catches I'm not seeing here? Couldn't drive it off the lot, titling and liscensing would probably suck, might need to get a CDL...there's gotta be something else huge that I'm missing...?

uhm, the fact that its probably a better candidate for a towrig for your house....

    45000 pound capacity...

that's like using a 1 ton to haul 200# of something. WAY overkill.

What the heck are they selling a vehicle that only has 1400 miles on it?

    It's got an 89,000 poung GVWR. :p:

What I'm saying here is, how come more people that haul 2+ rigs, drilling companies, etc., don't try and snag these?

they don't even have the right engine description. An 8V92TA is :

    8 8cylinder
    V Cinfiguration Block
    92 92 CI per cylinder(yes, that is 736 CI)
    T Turbo charged
    A and, aftercooled

If it runs, it has a pretty healthy engine. Has a turbo on top of a roots type blower feeding into an aftercooler mounted under the blower. It is a 2 stroke diesel, not a 4 stroke like most modern engines.

idk about titling but registration and insureance would freakin kill you man. Some of the crappy old straight trucks at work at like 500 bucks to register. I dont even have a clue on insureance. It have to have an Annual DOT inspection on it each year. And if you get your CDL good freakin luck on passing it with that thing, it looks like it would be a bastard to back up. All that being said

BUY IT BUY IT I WANT TO DRIVE IT TO MOAB

We'll have Kert build a sleeper for it and Terry go back and pass his CDL...then we'll haul ALL of our rigs to Moab, inside my house. :p: :D

Pretty sure I saw a similar setup in one of the 4x rags...Maybe Soni Henniger or something had one...had a camper/buggy hauler trailer. Pretty sweeet.

I'm also pretty sure that somebody will buy it and put it to use.

    Might as weel be you.

Maybe I could use it to haul your cover to Kert's shop. :p:

Also, 2 45000 pound winches...break your junk to pieces? drag it up onto the flatbed upside down.

    Pontiac 350 2bbl, TH350, and ~3.08 gears.

the only way fast can be used to describe the car is how my buddy needs it to disappear. :p:
