Thursday was the last day of my attendance at Salt Lake Community College.
I just graduated with an Associates degree majoring in Aircraft Maintenance.

Good job. So, now are you going to give up that DoD job and go to work in the General Aviation field?

    Yeah, me neither:D

I'll be starting in the fall back at Embry-Riddle aeronautical. Majoring in technical managment. Plus I'm on the fast track at work for my final promotion.
They put me in the cockpit yesterday. You have to be 75% contortionist,20% Aircraft electrician, and 5% masochist. today we'll see if I can get my ankles behind my ears...and still get all these wires deleted and terminated.

    Congrats!!!

Don't think I would do well at that. I have enough trouble keeping the truck running, and when it breaks I don't fall from the sky:rolleyes:

Good luck to you, at least GA is stable- well, as stable as anything in this industry can be. Smart move on going for your pilot's lic if you are going that route. Are you going to try to get your IA after you've been in the field? I've got a couple buddies in GA w/ IAs and they do pretty good pay-wise.

As for me the only "GA" I'm interested in is short for Gulfstream Aerospace:D No little planes for me thanks.

One last thing- learn the written questions, don't just memorize the answers. It will be a lot easier if you do.

Do they give you a break on tuition for ERAU where you work? We've got an on site campus, but that chit is expensive and I'm still paying for my A&P school.

Oh, and removing old wires is always easier than installing new ones, so don't bitch too much. Especially if you get to just cap and stow:wink1:

    Good luck on the promotion.

I've got the upside-down wedge yourself between the intrument panel and rudder pedals with pilot/co seats still installed thing down pretty good :D

I'd much rather remove wires than install new ones. I've got a special 'tool' for removing wires. It's a 16" section of a broom handle :) Wrap the wire around the broom handle and use gentle tugs.

Yep, I'm planning on movin up to alaska, after i build up some time and get all my ratings. When we went up to AK they were sayin it's best if your a pilot and an IA, youre more likely to get hired, so who knows what ill end up doing.

Embry-Riddle will still be expensive, even with the Air force paying for one class each semester. But, you take what you can get. Education always pays off in the end.

If it was just deletes and terminates that would be great but I also add the new wires, We are doing mods right now, making all the 16's the same, with the same capabilities and what not. I've gone through 2- 500 yard spools of tie string in the last 3 weeks.
