How rare were these? A friend of mine just got an '89, and I know another guy with a '91. They definitely seem fancy as far as interior and paint goes.

Hmmm, never heard of one either.

If you could get some pics like tazz said it might help us. /forums/images/graemlins/thinking.gif

Sounds like an aftermarket conversion. Many companies added fancy paint jobs and cushy interiors to new Subs back then. They were similar to van conversions.

That must be the case. They have kind of a fancy "custom" paint job. The interior consists of an oak center console, strip lighting up on the headliner, some real wood (oak) panels on the door panels too, and seats that seem different than factory GM seats. Both say "Grand Prix" as part of the exterior paint scheme and also have a Grand Prix emblem on the dash next to the Silverado emblem.

If it has all that then it's a conversion Burb.
I bought a conversion body for mine when I needed a new tub, didn't have all the oak anymore but the captains seats were still there. /forums/images/graemlins/thumb.gif

Grand Prix is a conversion company. May be out of buisness because I can find refference to them but no the actual company.

They are/were probably in you region.
Here in Atlanta I see GodFather, Chatanooga, Starcraft. I think Dramu has some Starcraft documents up on his site.

I've seen quite a few of them around town. They have ugly paint (stickers) with too many pinstripes (stickers again). They also skinny tires with flairs that stick out about 3" wider than the truck.
