I was just taking a few things into the storage shed, which is at the far corner of our lot. When I dropped the stuff off I noticed some of the grass got torn up when I was driving on it. I was just cruising at 2000 RPM in 1st gear when I was going up. in the spring, will half the grass not grow back, or will it? The lawn already looked really bad in the summer time, will it look worse next summer?
Also, my sister is just learning to drive a standard tranny vehicle, so there is a bunch of long patches where she held on the gas to long while taking out the clutch, will those fill in with grass, or will there be a big long patch this summer?

[/ QUOTE ] Go water the grass, get the ground really wet. Then do burn outs in the wet grass. That'll spread it out nicely. /forums/images/graemlins/whistling.gif

its already covered in wet snow, thats part of the reason why it got torn up. So I cant put seed on it.

Either you should have seeded the bald spots a month or so ago or you'll just have to wait until spring when the snow is gone.

there weren't to many bald spots last summer, so I never seeded.
But Im worried about next summer, I dont want the lawn to be patchy.
I guess I will just see what happens, then seed when the snow leaves.

ariating is when you get that machine that pulls up a bunch of grass, then it looks like a bunch of turds on the grass when its finished, right?

Well as resident turfgrass expert in training.. /forums/images/graemlins/thumb.gif /forums/images/graemlins/thumb.gif Id agree with everybody and say leave it be until spring and throw some seed down it'll be fine. Fall and Spring are the times of rapid growth and green-up for cool season grasses and it will germinate very quickly in the spring. So in other words dont even worry about it right now... /forums/images/graemlins/peace.gif /forums/images/graemlins/peace.gif /forums/images/graemlins/peace.gif /forums/images/graemlins/peace.gif If your yard hasnt been aerated in a while you might want to do that to open up the ground and relieve compaction problems if you have them. You can leave the plugs on the ground afterwards. So just aerate, seed, and throw some Nitrogen (Fertilizer) down in Spring and you'll be good.
