I was working on a guy's 87 V20 today, tuning it up for him. He asked me to figure out the gear ratio and I found that it had an options ID like a newer truck would have. It had GU6 for an axle code, which a search revealed that is for a 3.42 gear. I know that 3/4 tons with 3.42s are rare, but there is such a thing. If this is truely a 3.42 geared truck it'd be the first 3/4 ton I've ever come across personally with that high of gears. This guy is the original owner. Before he met me, he spent $1500 to have the 14 bolt SF repaired when he ate up the R&P set!
