Looks like they are at it again. The semi auto gun ban is back into committee. Except this time the Democrats are including a lot of new stuff too like semi-auto shotguns, limiting shotguns to 5 rounds, and no pistol grips of any kind. These are truly stupid people. Don't they remember 1994 and the complete loss of both houses of Congress after passing the Clinton/Reno gun ban? Then on top of it all the ban had no effect at all on anything except for raising the prices of guns and magazines. The Democrats are determined to remove the ability of Americans to defend themselves. First semi-auto guns, then handguns, then knives, forks, sticks. A docile population is easier to control.

Oh, and don't worry. This time they will make sure that there's no sunset in the law.

    Here's the bill:
    http://www.govtrack.us/congress/billtext.xpd?bill=h110-1022

I don't think online petitions do anything but I signed one anyway:
    http://www.thepetitionsite.com/takeaction/409898348

I know it's a pain in the ass to do but somehow tell your Congressmen that you won't stand for this crap again.

Unfortunately, did you expect anything different from those pinko commies?!

    This is only the beginning.
They've started sending out subpeonas today for their upcoming hearings.

Well, when the soviet union collapsed, much KGB documentation was found to show that joe mccarthy was on the money.. Did you know that the reason the democrats went so hard after nixon was his role in bringing noted commie traitor alger hiss to justice back in the 50's? watergate was just the pretense.. Although it wasn't proven, nixon's people were in the watergate hotel in the first place because they suspected fidel castro was funneling money into the democrat party..

anyway, back on point - liberal democrats will always be liberal democrats, and do liberal democrat things.. like act like communists while pretending to "protect" everyones rights..

I know everyone thought they were voting for conservative pro gun democrats this last election, but voters forgot that the guys we hate ( IE: schumer ) still run the party, set up the committees, and drive the legislative bus..

everyone wanted "change" - so that's what everyone gets.. maybe conservative voters ( and poilticians) will pull their heads out of their asses and realize that democrats will play them every chance they get, because that's what they do..

even my latest NRA magazine ( first freedom) editorials are stating " gee , we hope we didn't screw up in endorsing pro gun democrats"... stupid, stupid, stupid..

time to re up my membership to the john birch society..

I agree with the ban. Let's say Joe Crackhead breaks into your house and misses you with the first 5 shots out of his legally registered and purchased Remington 870. Then you'd be damn glad they passed that bill so he couldn't have a tube extension with another three shots to actually kill you.:wink1: He'd only have 5 shots to miss you with and when he's done, you can call 911 and wait for Bubba to show up and slap the handcuffs on. Maybe you can have a cup of tea with him while everybody's waiting and find out that he got spanked as a kid, and that's the root of the whole problem. He didn't want to kill anyone, he's just still pissed deep down about getting bent over his Dad's knee for smoking a cigarette and he's had smoke crack to cope. He's out of crack, so he's just trying to get your VCR to pawn so he can go get some dope and cope with life. Only dope's illegal and he's been busted for possesion twice and he ain't going back - hence the shotgun. Good thing they passed that law so he only had 5 shots. Sounds like a wonderful piece of legislation.:doah:

I better go get me a Smatchet while I still can.:saweet: Rant over.

So what's up Corey, Lenten vows peter out already? Don't worry, I tried giving up profanity one year. After about 2 days I thought my head was going to explode. Had to revert to the old standby, giving up ice cream for the duration.

I can't stand Dems . I am registered Republican , just because I only had two choices in AZ when I registered to vote , and I am closer to a Republican than anything else .

I am waiting for the new party to join . We should start one . With these principles :

The first ten ammendments to the U.S Constitution , they way our forfathers meant it .

    We ARE the "Millitia"

Too much Government is bad .

And everyone needs to be responsible for themselves .

Sorry "ColbyStephens" and "Corey 78K5" are a little too close for me to keep straight. He's staying out of the Lounge til Lent passes. I thought I had him, you, whatever.

someone should remind the dems that true 'assault weapons' ( select fire capability, for those that don't know ) have been illegal for decades.. I hate redundant laws that generate cheap publicity..

There is one. It's called the Libertarian Party. http://www.lp.org/.
I don't agree with all of their stuff. They are a little bit Left of what I like in foreign policy and they don't agree with capital punishment but overall I agree with them. They cover all of the points you listed. I'm registered as a Republican too but I'm sure getting fed up with their big government Socialist leanings too.

Now I didn't intend to use this post to advance political parties. I just wanted to get the info out on the Socialists (read Dems) and one of their plans. I know there are a lot of shooters on CK5.

Good job on the heads up.. but if may hijack for a second..

it's hard to talk about this issue without discussing parties..as much as folks like to believe they are bipartisan, non partisan, moderate, or independent, it's impossible to not take sides and point fingers, otherwise nobody learns anything about the issue..

reality is, liberal ideas and conservative ideas about gun ownership can't logically coexist, unless one pretends there's no difference between them..

As I mentioned earlier, the NRA is about to pay a price for their straddling the fence and not taking sides.. being all about a single issue doesn't work anymore. you have to look at the philosphies and tendencies of the party leaders before you endorse them, and means discussing parties and their differences..

Oh I agree totally. I just didn't want people to think I was trying to force them to become Libertarians. I'm not even one yet. I think there is a possibility that the Republicans can be reformed from their Socialist, big government ways but the odds don't look good anytime in the future. Republicans are fairly consistent in their support for the 2nd Amendment but they have crossed sides many times to vote with the gun banners. When you look at Guiliani's and McCain's stances on the issue they might as well be Democrats. And they are the front runners in the GOP! I think we are in for many years of new laws and gun bans no matter who wins. The Libertarians are still viewed as extremists and can't win even though our 2nd Amendment rights would be protected by them.

I agree here too. I have been an NRA member for 20+ years but the NRA has sold out gun owners several times recently to be able to claim victory. I personally think that the Gun Owners of America http://www.gunowners.org/ is a much better organization when it comes to no-compromise gun rights. The NRA has the clout but not the will. The GOA has the will but not the visibility.

All gun owners should belong to both organizations.
