So many choices, and hard to decide between them.

    Mossberg 835 mag. ported - ~$300
    Remington 870 super mag. - ~$350
    Benelli Nova - ~$400

These are what I'm considering. I've shot a Nova and the 870 before (old 870 with a loooong barrel). Only thing I don't like about the Nova is the grip. Has this funky ribbed grip that chafes bad when spending a long day shooting clays.

Big things I'm looking for: 3.5" capability, slug barrel options, smooth actions

    Comments, suggestions?

I like 870s alot, I've used 4 different ones for extended periods of time over the years and liked them all. They are a little rough brand new but once they are broken in they are so smooth. I also have a benelli supernova but I only use it for turkey hunting. I like it cause its a little lighter than the others but it has a damn 28" barrel and a new one from benelli costs almost as much as a whole gun. I've never shot skeet with it but it seems a little "looser" than the 870s. I've never shot a 835 so I cant help you there. I vote for 870.

    My father is.

Best I did Saturday was 20/25 on the trap with a Stoeger side-by.

Got some compliments from the fancy over-under guys... "You shoot that side-by-side with authority"

Yeah I suck a skeet, but pretty good at trap. Its all mental for me, on any day I can shoot like 20 and up on trap, but if im making a bet or under any pressure I just make an a$$ of my self. Thats the best part, going with my pump and still be able to beat some of those guys with $1000+ over and unders, they all have their outfits on and I go up there pulling shells out of my pocket.

    I've made a decision gentleman.

    Benelli Nova.

Found a used one at the Gander Mountain for $250. (It's 250 because it has no extra choke tubes or choke wrench). The full choke is installed right now, which is about all I use. 1 year warranty, I think that's almost a steal.
