Since I'm building a 7 mag, I don't really see the need to keep a utility looking .300 around. Thinking about buying an claro or black walnut stock blank and making it into a "pretty" rifle. Don't know why, just been in the mood to customize stuff so that I can call it my own recently.

Only problem is I want the finish on the metal to be shiny...it's currently matte. It shoots damn well so I'd rather not trade it on a gloss finish rifle.

Anybody know anything about stuff like this? Can I buff the thing or does it have to be stripped and refinished by a pro?

Well they sell bluing kits if you want to try it yourself. I'm not sure on the price for having a pro blue it, but I don't think it will be cheap.
