Who has em? I've got a Kahr K9 9mm, a Desert Eagle .50 AE, a Remington 870 mag 12 gauge, and soon to pick up a little plinker .22. Anyone have either a Garand or an AR-15? Those are awesome.

I had an AR-15 back in the day, along with an AK-47. Those provided hours of rediculous fun. /forums/images/graemlins/thumb.gif

Desert Eagle .50 , Jennning's 9mm (My junk gun, but it's really cheap to shoot, and cheap to replace) , Mossburg Pistal-grip 12 gauge shot gun , Ruger .40 (and plans to buy a Ruger 9mm to replace my junk gun, want something better. The Jennings is cracking in a few places, and I don't feel safe shooting it anylonger). Lots of friends with guns too. Remember, I live in SD where there are more guns then people. /forums/images/graemlins/eek.gif /forums/images/graemlins/eek.gif /forums/images/graemlins/eek.gif

I personally have:

Remington 870 12 ga. Tactical shotgun
Remington 870 16 ga. Bird shotgun
Mossburg 835 12 ga. Bird shotgun
Remington 700 ADL 30.06
Marlin Guide Gun .45-70 (half mine, half dads)
Winchester 69A .22lr
Ruger Blackhawk .357mag 6.5"
Ruger Super Blackhawk .44mag 4 5/8"
Moison Nagant M91 7.62x54R

My dad has many others (some of which I have basically confiscated because I like them or he doesn't use them /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif)
ex:

Browning HiPower 9mm
Beretta 92FS (I got dad a smoking deal on it and I paid for part of it)
Ruger Blackhawk .45LC 7.5"
Smith & Wesson 686+ .357mag 4"
M1 Garand 30.06 (I bugged him till he bought it)
and a few others.

He has an AR-15 but I really don't like it that much. So he can keep it.

How do you like the garand? That is my dream gun. Does it have bayonet lugs or is it post-ban? Someday I'll get my hands on one, when I can fund it. I was thinking of getting the .308 version to save my shoulder from taking an early retirement /forums/images/graemlins/laugh.gif

The Garand is awesome. I have always been a war movie fan, and I had always wanted a Garand. So I bugged my dad (when I was 14 or so) to buy one. He bought one from a friend of his for $300. It is a Korean War return. It is nothing special looks wise, but it shoots great.

As for not having a bayonet lug, they all should. They are not subject to the "Assault Weapons" ban. They only hold 8 rounds of ammo so they are under the 10 rd statue and therefore not subject to it.

My dad actually has both the M1 Garand fullsize in the 30.06 and also the M1 Tanker model (shorter) and in .308 win. I personally like the 30.06 better. Being a semi auto gun it really doesn't kick that much. The recoil doesn't bother me at all on that gun, but I am 6'4" 250lbs., and I have shot guns in calibers like .338 Win mag, .300 Win mag, 7mm Rem Mag, .300 Weatherby mag, .45-70, etc on a regular basis for years.

The gun being semi auto though make the 30.06 round recoil lighter then a .308 would in a bolt action rifle. I would put it along the lines of a .30-30, maybe a little more.

Price is hard to say. It is about market, and about condition. A Garand in decent condition in a decent market might bring somewhere around $500. A gun in nicer condition would bring more. WW2 guns are worth more, and Korean returns are worth less.

If you are not buying to collect a Korean is just as good as a WW2. They are the same gun, just different in the eyes of collectors.

Rem 700 "mountain edition" .280

So far I have a Springfield Armory M1911-A1 .45 caliber pistol, Remington 870 mag 12 guage w/ synthetic furniture, Marlin .22LR bolt action plinker, Remington 700 VLS in .308win (varmint barrel, laminate synthetic stock, in need of Mcmillan stock, match grade barrel and some new optics) although it still shoots quite well...

I think at some point an AK 47 or AR15, or something else that shoots some inexpensive ammo. Feedin' match grade thru my .308 all the time hurts the 'ol pocketbook...

I have too many to count. Have about 6 or 7 shotguns/rifles in the tall gun cabinet and another 7 or so pistols. I have a matching pair of tricked out S&W 9mm's and they fit nicely in a custom shoulder holster I had made while on a trip to Honduras
