The Hilux and other old Tamiya kits like it have a certain nich collecter following. The ones that come to mind are the Hilux, Bruiser, 959, and maybe the Celica rally car. They are very hard to find and those that buy them never really use them.

Those Toyota bodied trucks are the very rare ones. And the fact its still in the box unassembled makes them worth even more.

I sold a rare Juggernaut I on eBay last month with the Juggular conversion and it was all assembled but just a roller. It sold for $610. :eek1:

If you have the Toyota trucks, I'd bet you could fetch $600-$800 for it.

Oh yeah... the Hilux and the Bruiser were always expensive. But to this day, they're still about the most realistic 1/10 R/C vehicle ever made (in quantity).
I always wanted a Bruiser so I could put the Parma Ground Hawg tires on it and look nearly real...

the value of a vintage Hornet just dropped through the floor with the re-release of it, the Grasshopper, and several other models.

Well its good from a replacement part standpoint . And while a re-release , they are not 100 percent correct . The originals came with 3 step mechanical speed controls , while the new ones have ESC's .

What we may see are new kits being sold as old ones , and you wouldn't know until you get it home , see an ESC , and the copyright date on the box is new .
