[GM engineer]"I know, let's make it out of styrofoam so it gets better gas mileage! /forums/images/graemlins/thumb.gif[/GM engineer]
Guess the body isn't quite as tough as the 3/4 ton chassis under it /forums/images/graemlins/rolleyes.gif
Score one for the Dodge /forums/images/graemlins/blush.gif

Wow thats impressive. I must say however that the front crumple zone did what it was supposed to do, doesnt look like the passenger compartment is too badly damaged.

    Yep....that crush zone worked well!!!!
It probably protected the passengers!!! /forums/images/graemlins/thumb.gif

Damage always looks worse than it is with ALL that sheet metal that is made to fold!!! /forums/images/graemlins/rolleyes.gif

The dodge frame is back about 2 feet.... /forums/images/graemlins/eek.gif

Since they are probably totalled...I call it a draw!!! /forums/images/graemlins/ignore.gif

I hope everyone was OK (that was everyone elses first thought too right?)

Looking at the damage I'd call it a draw, not because one is a little worse than the other but because they both did what they were supposed to do...protect the passenger compartment. In that regard both trucks look really good all things considered.

For outright toughness we all know the Dodge wins that over the H2 any day of the week. Cummin's, D60 (or D61) solid front...versus IFS and an ugly body./forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif

Look at the skid marks from the rear of the H2. I would say the H2 was going the wrong way. I also think it knocked that Dodge all the way back to where it is because the H2 stopped right there after the tail end spun around. Being as there is a center divider, the driver of the H2 was wither drunk or being chased by the police. Prolly the latter. And at a high rate of speed...

Man you guys - this happened forever ago! - like August of '02 - get with the times! /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

Here is a link to the story - it happened in Anchorage AK - he ran a red light - but in the Hummer's defense, even though the driver apparently was a moron - it was hit by a delivery truck - then hit a Mazda head-on - before hitting the Dodge - see the story below....

So that's 3 car's worth of damage on the H2 - versus one impact on the Dodge /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

Hey, Igor, It doesn't take a physics major to see that those are two different wrecked exotics. The windshields are diff. the pass. side mirror is diff. the pass. side tire is diff.(it's present in the pictures you posted, nowhere to be seen at the scene.) and many other flaws to the story... /forums/images/graemlins/thinking.gif

im not sure why the h2 is getting dissed on.. its front end is smashed... ummm.. so what, so is the dodges and its sposed to be "beefy" with its d60 and crap. /forums/images/graemlins/confused.gif btw, my moms minivan destroyed the front end of a 3/4t dodge almost as bad as that pic there... IMO neither cars, vans nor trucks are all that tough these days...

Unless the H2 was painted a different color and has a certain "Christine" element to it those are not the same wrecks./forums/images/graemlins/tongue.gif
