I got my 350(3970010,4 bolt main) in and I beleive its a decent motor :) for a at least 25 years old block!

Here's the noticable improvements compare to the 305:

    1-Bit more bass into mufflers
    2-not big but better acceleration
3-Way more pulling power(most noticable change)
4-seem to ba about same on gas...maybe a dot harder

    Thats all stock parts.

What would be the best bang for the buck to bring that sleeper alive???

Gears are the best way to wake it up , provided ya already have a good running motor with a decent intake and exhaust :D

BTW , good block casting number . Mine is sitting freshly machined ( bore/lined/new caps ) , to go in my Chevelle .

A set of quality headers like the Thorley Tri-Y's and a duel exhaust system, and a good intake manifold.
