went camping at ocean cove (a few miles north of jenner, on highway 1), and the diff was making a nasty sound the last few miles. topped the it off with gear oil, and figured it was good. made it about 10 miles on sunday, and the noise was getting louder.
i decided that i would rather fix the damamge at home than on the side of a twisty beach highway, so we pulled into a turnoff, and dropped the rear shaft. wrapped a couple of sandwich bags around the tranny output, and cruised home front wheel drive style.
thank god i never took the front one out because of the different gears, i woulda been screwed!
so now i need to tear into the damn rear-end. what fun.
