14 years ago my wife got a litter of 5 kittens from someone at her work when they were 2 weeks old so she had to bottle feed them. We gave 2 away and kept 3.

1 died a few years ago for no reason at all, We put the 2nd one down a few months ago after he went had kidney failure. Last night we had to put the last one down, he was like a growth on are dogs side for the last 7 years and everyones favorite.

When he started feeling bad we took him to the vet and she took an x-ray which showed fluid around the heart, the only good thing was it made it easier for us to decide to put him down.

    He will be missed.

Heres a pic of him a week ago before he started feeling bad. He was also the one that slept in the bed everynight with us.

We had to put my wifes cat down the year before last. She was almost 22 years old and Carolyn got her as a young child. She lived with me for 8 years and was a cool cat. Naturally Carolyn tried everything to save her. She was giving her an IV every day to keep her going but at the end her skin was so porous that the fluid would just seep back out. I finally had to tell her it was enough, she knew it was but still broke down. I made sure I went with her when she was put to sleep.

Sorry to hear of your loss. It is hard to put a pet down as they become a member of the family.

Yeah, I hear ya, my cat is starting to lose it mentally. Doesnt go outside anymore. Just lies around the house sleeping. Shes close to 20 now. Got her as a kitten. Shes eaten a mixture of dry food and tuna evryday, 3-5 times a day her whole life, dont know about that mercury thing though...

Im gonna miss her when she goes.

Miss my ferrets and thats been over 2 years now.

Best of luck to you and your family...

His name is Tiger, but I usually call him fuzzbutt or asshole, but the other night he actually responded to retard. He's a longhair yellow tabby, about 10 years old.

If it made it to 20 I doubt the mercury did much to hurt it. The fat and protine most likley did more good anyway.

Our two fuzzballs died last year. One was 14 the other was 10. My wife had the black one (14 yr old) before we were married. The dog will be next, he's almost 12.

Our two cats are only 3 years old and I dread losing them. I told the wife the next pet was going to be a tortoise. It should surely out live me...

    Sorry to hear this......

My condolances on your loss..:( --We have several feral strays that look just like your cat here..want one?..they aren't tame or very friendly though..

I have 2 "indoor only" cats that are about 7 years old?..one we got last year,(Kit-Kat,a BIG white male short hair)and we dont know exactly how old he is--the other is a female(Puff-Puff,a white angora)..I too dread the day they will leave us..I'd rather be the one to go first..

Thanks, He was the wifes favorite and last of that litter so it hit us both pretty hard. We still have 2 cats but ones outdoor and one is her moms so its not really the same.
