This got me out of bed this morning at 5am. We won't be sure how much damage there really is until harvest in the fall. The first two pics are of an 80 acre soybean field, it's pretty much a total loss. The corn field is 150 acres and looks like its taken a loss of 35% of the total yield( just a guess, corn is a very resilient plant os it's hard to tell)

Anywho, no dana 60 were damaged in the making of this storm..

Some of the farmer's down in the Pueblo area have installed Hail cannons. They swear by them.

What is your water situation up there, drought or no?

    It's just beans, planted on 7 1/2" rows. It's called no-till drilling.

Yeah, that hail cannon looks wild:pimp:

Man thats funny its dry as hell down by mallard Brett, that sucks about the hail though. You guys got hail insurance? Where else did it hit up there. We didnt get any in Mallard. Im down in Early for the weekend, dads corn isnt lookin so good. We didnt have a wet spring like up in your area, and we havnt had sh*t for rain.

Bad part about the dry too is the weeds are under so much stress its hard to kill them, weve been recommending to all the farms to bump up their roundup rates from 32 oz to 40 or 44 oz an acre.

While you guys got that, west of the twin cities around Jordan and blue earth they got 4-12 inches of hail one afternoon. Eighty-five degrees outside and hail piled up in snowbanks.
The great white combine doesn't miss much does it......

Last summer they put a town in a state of emergency about 4 miles west of me. Royal i think it might of been Everly, anyway they were pushin hail into huge piles with payloaders, trees were down everywhere. When we get a storm...we get a storm. This year we havnt had crap. A little thunder a bit of lighting and a sprinkle of rain...it just dissappoints me really. Weird thing is I never heard about hail up by Bretts place till on here. Usually the word of weather travels fast around here.

Thats has got to be an awsome sight to see, do most people in areas that are usually hard hit have a seperate righter for their insurance??? Or is it just too spendy and you just hope for the best.We have nothing like that around here, no real flooding, pea sized hail, 1 tornado in the last 30 years,,, Oh yeah we do have a volcano...
