Just wondering if anyone else went out and saw this? I went and saw it last night and I thought it was a little weird, but it was good. I was interested in anybody else's opinion.

Being a big fan of the series, I went and saw it on opening night. I felt that, while no actor could have filled Sir Hopkins' shoes, the role could have been played a little better. I thought he showed too much emotion. Even taking in account age, experience, etc, Hannibal was always ice cold. Never got excited. Story was a little weak I thought. They didn't go into how his mind works. You just kinda have to accept he's smart and creative. You also never get that hook. Maybe I'm used to today's high impact, shock style entertainment but you never feel his trauma. You reason what messed him up in the head but you don't feel it. They also never went into why or how he came to know or appreciate the finer things in life. Obviously he had a privileged upbringing but at that age, he wouldn't know Montrachet or fine cookware for example.

    Overall, C-.
