normaly I don't see an issue with spotting a buddy a $20 here and there but they are always returned. Or covering a bar tab only to get it back the next time out. Well here I set with $475 in unpaid "sells to friends" and $210 in " loan-me-yours-til-i-can-buy-my-own" with parts.

and the damn... you can afford it line is bullsh1t. I can afford it cause I work hard for what I get.

Yeah, got burned that way once. I love swapping parts or favors with friends, and will buy a meal or a beer anytime. Don't hand out cash anymore, or "Loan" anything I want back. Seems like it always turns out badly.

I'v always have had good luck with family. I use to leave my brother blank checks and he would pay me back within 2 weeks everytime.

I did a roofing job with another friend once. We split the labor and materials right down the middle. Problem was, the materials were on my account at the local lumber yard. He took forever to pay me his half of which I already paid off at the LY so I wouldn't lose more from interest.

When he finally did pay me off, I had found out he owed several other people and businesses money. He then set his Dodge on fire, got back in it and blew his brains out. Yep, committed suicide. Wasn't any surprise as he always had problems and had been talking of doing something like this.

Tough life. Tough on his family. Tough on the people and businesses who lost money, too.

I've always been good with family, too. But thats only with my folks as they're the only ones who help out every now and then. I still owe them $2300 for lawyer fees from my divorce in which they told me to pay off with the 2007 tax refund. No worries they said. I love my mom and dad.

    I will second that motion.

I could never figure out how my sister needed money to make her house payment for the next couple of months but, why are her and her moron of a husband driving brand new F150 and an Expidition?

Peoples priorities are all jacked up!

I don't "loan" money to anyone. If I give money to someone, in my mind it's a gift. Then I don't get upset when they don't pay it back. Course, they don't get any more gifts after that.
