OK! Installed the caddy calipers in the rear and think I may need a por. valve but don'y know for sure just yet. Now what I really need to know is If I install a 1 ton brake master cyl. on the truck would it give me a longer pedel throw and push more fluid to the rear calipers or anything like that. If so what year master cyl. and can I use the same booster I have now. (just extra info. I just pulled off the dana 44 calipers to install the caddy ones)

Also looking for any pics. they may have how the e-brake cable is hooked up to the caliper or brackets to hold the cable.

ok, I'm headed over to the chevy dealer today and will ask about the older motorhome master-cylinders that were on them with 4 wheel-disks, I have been told that it was a 1-ton truck chassis and like I said had 4 wheel-disk...keep your fingers crossed... /forums/images/graemlins/thumb.gif

The push rods can be swapped.

On the prop valve, I'm not sure that will work out to be ideal. The prop valve not only controls flow and "take up", but also pressure balance. The correct balance is going to depend not only on the mechanism (specific caliper, disk vs. drum, etc.) but also on the weight distribution (and it's affect traction).

I'm no expert, and I don’t speak from experience, but that's what comes to mind...

I put a 1 ton MC on my 82 K5 and my 86 K10 with no mods to the booster or pushrod.

It doesnt look like it will work, but just bolt it on and everything will work. Ive been running the one on my 86 for about 1 year now.
