Ira, I have your phone number with me so if I break down or anything like that I will give you a call for help. Just please post up here with what I need.

I hate the idea of driving across the country in my 87 Long Bed but I am sure it will make it. The thing that puts my mind at ease is that if anything should come up I have CK5 friends all across the country that may be able to help.

If any of you see my truck wave. Pic posted below.

Wish me luck, and if anyone needs any parts transported along the way just let me know, I will be gald to get them as long as it will fit in the bed of my truck along with my crap...

I will only be in San Diego from JAN06 until NOV06. Then I PCS over to Pascagoula MS for the Pre-Com phase of the Makin Island. She will be homeported in San Diego though so i will return. The date is still up in the air though. I would guess sometime in Mid to late 2007.

From JAN-NOV06 I will be living with the in-laws in Temecula and collecting massive amounts of BAH. Should be working the second shift too for the most part. 1500-2200 attending CIWS "C" school then the CIWS 1B difference course.

After I return from P-Goula I plan on moving into Navy Housing since I don't think that i could afford a house out there any more.

I forgot about the temp duty. The Temec is about 1Hr north of me as I live in East County:D . As soon as Iget my bushings from ORD I can get the K5 together and we can hit Corral Canyon or something.

I will be stopping in Temecula for a few days, then hopefully if all works out I would love to get a good day of wheeling in with any of the So-Cal guys on here. I have read up a little on Coral Canyon. Does'nt look to extreme really but it would still be a blast.

Another heads up, My neighbor and former LPO is taking the same route as I plan on. He started his trip tonight. So if his ass breaks down I will post up his location, looking for help.
He is not on CK5 but he drives an 87 Shortbed. I have posted a few pics of it here and there. Here is a refresher since i feel like being a pic whore tonight.

Ya there is nothing too tough out there but there are a few tight spots you can squeeze a full size into that make it a little more fun:D . I would like to head up to north county area but have never been might have to remedy that.:D

I'm up for anything as long as I can still drive my truck home at the end of it all. I might also drag my brother in-law along. He has a little Yota, pretty close to stock, so nothing too hard for it.

I ran one of the "tougher" trails out there in stock form open on both ends and all I got was a little crease on the rear quarter. I hear a lot of guys talking about azusa but I don't know where that is and I think it is mostly mud but I am not sure. I am not really a mud guy to much **** to clean afterwards:D .

209Meg ouch. I got a post in the Pacific forum asking for wheelin areas with in a 2 hour radius. I think that would prolly be the farthest I would want to drive and then spend the day on the trail and drive home.

I drove almost exactly that route one Feb, in reverse. Went from the left coast to Chi-town to pick up a race car from Carl Haas Lola.
There's a town on the 40 in OK that claims to be the hometown for a past Miss USA. Don't believe it, they were all ugly in that town. Keep an eye out for Cadillac Ranch in TX.

Azusa Canyon is about the only mud I know of in So.CA Never been there, no interest in mud.

Were you on highway 14 a few miles north of Mojave, Ca this afternoon (1/3) maybe around 12:30-1:00. I swear I saw a truck that looked just like the one posted sitting back off the highway kind of behind some gravel piles
