Sorry Im a Pontiac guy. I could tell you which heads are goor and which are bad for Pontiacs.I belive though that they are a decent set of heads. They flow pretty decent for a factory iron head. I know though that my buddy runs them on his 66 Chevelle. He brack races it, and it runs mid 13s.

I dont remember the casting number of hand. I'm in CO and the heads are at home in AZ the only thing I remember is that 886 is cast into them, and one time I thought i heard that these heads were on of the best flowing cast iron heads GM put out. I think that they are from the mid to late 60's, the blocks they came with were. I do remember a 6 digit number that was cast into it. I remember 33_886 I think. thanks

Any head from the late 60s flow great. Just stay away from heads made during the mid 70s and early 80s. During all the smog bs the choked the heads way down, and took all the power away.

I'm almost 100% on the number 886 being cast in the the head between the middle two cylinders near the valve springs. I may be wrong though. What can you tell me about the 882 heads? thanks

Well, the 882's have 76cc chambers, 1.94 intake valves and 1.50 exhaust valves. Im pretty sure they are good heads from the standpoint that they are better than some later castings made durring the 70's and 80's that were more smog oriented and not as durable. Vortec heads are the best prodiution cast iron heads you can get
