HELP 69-75 guy\'s Need some measurments.

I need some measurements. I'm trying to help STC resolve a problem. They are thinking that their maybe some difference from year to through the production from GM on the bed rails. Right now they are having a complaint on two 75's. Mine being one of them. They have not had this complaint before. Either nobody bothered to complain or something hapend to their tooling recently that caused the bends to become incorrect. What they want is is a couple measurments to see if GM changed the placement of the top bolts. He want's them for both first and second gen. They both use the same bows for those years.
Where they need the measurments is across the truck from top bolt hole to bolt hole center. I'm coming up with 68.5 on the second gen trucks (if memory serves me). Take measurments front and rear. A truck with a rusted tail pan will measure more than that without a top on it.
He also would like the measurments to the inside of the bedrail.
Thanks guys' This will help STC make a perfect top for our trucks that you will be happy to own.

    OK Grimmy,

The box on my truck is a 73 grafted onto the back of an 81...my bolts measure 68.5" center to center across the truck. I measured right at the half cab so bx side spread shouldn't be an issue there. You might be interested to know I have a half top from an 82 Blazer bolted to my truck. That tells me the bolt holes and all should be the same pattern and width etc from 73 on up...at least for the actual box part of the truck.

Oh yeah...inside edge of the box to the inside edge of the box looks to be 66" right on the nose.

    HTH...

    Rene

My 75, no top attached, no body damage(..yet/forums/images/icons/laugh.gif)

center to center bolt measurement was 68"

inside bedrail to bedrail, at the upper edge of the rail was 65-1/8"

Measurements were identical front to rear- (I guess my body is still straight/forums/images/icons/smile.gif)

    NEED SOME 69-72\'s!!!!

Get me some measurments for the 69-72's!!!! They use the same bows on the Fasttrac. STC is making sure these are correct for your trucks also.

I think this thread is slowing down. Think you can remove the "lock-down" on it? /forums/images/icons/wink.gif
