    :help: 89 Chev Subrurban Won\'t Start \"Update\"

Well tested all carb Items I could test and it tested ok
Now we have moved on to NO SPARK or INTERMITENT SPARK.
    from coil.
If I crank it long enough or often enough I get spark occasionally. But never long enough to start the rig.
I guess that would explain why I could get it started before by stuffing a screwdriver in carb it wasnot that that was helping but was buying time, and waiting for intermitent spark. any Ideas
the coil on the Sub and coil in manual are not the same but we have tested the coil to the best of our ability and it seems to be bad. Get infinite reading on high energy
and low reading low side /forums/images/graemlins/1zhelp.gif

I just recently bought an 89 chev /forums/images/graemlins/burb.gif subruban 4x4 to haul
all six kids and the wife around.
Any how this is what it seems to be doing.
On cold starts floods with out touching the gas pedal.
was able to start after a bit with long screwdriver in
carb hold throttle open but now that does not work
    either.
    All recent work done:
    just replaced all plugs
    wires
    distributer
    new coil
    new starter
    new battery
and new ignition switch at bottom of colum not key
    switch
I don't think any of these things would have affected
    the carb
Any Help or Ideas would be of great help.

well you say you can stick a screw driver in the TB to make it run, well sir you have a TBI motor, i had a similer problem, but it turned out that my idle air control module wasnt working right, so i bought a new one, and it worked well. did the whole high idle thing and stuff, or it could be your temperature sensor in the manifold, that will do it too, the IAC is about 36$ at autozone, and the temp sensor is 12$ at autozone, see if this helps, i hope it does. /forums/images/graemlins/thumb.gif

Is it a carb or a TBI...makes a big difference in diagnosing the problem...

yeah if it only does it at idle (it sounds that way) replace the IAC (idle air control mudule) that'll probably do it.
