I wanted to pass the word along to you all that my wife and I want to adopt a child. It has been recommended to us that we tell everyone we know of our intentions to adopt so that we can all keep our eyes and ears open for a birth mother looking to place her child in a loving home.

If anyone knows of a birthmother looking to place her baby for adoption, or anyone with any information that might help us, please let us know. The more people we have helping us, the better!

    Thanks -

Just make sure to act fast. We had a foster child live with us when I was about 6 (Mom's bosses step-grandson). He had lived with us about a year and we were ready to file adoption papers and his drunk bastard deadbeat dad wanted him back and poof he was gone! /forums/images/graemlins/angryfire.gif

We discussed being foster parents, but we decided it would be too traumatic to our 7 year old daughter to go thru exactly what you did.

We had some friends that had a couple foster kids living with them. They were taken away to live with the birth mother in the drug rehab. center - if you believe that! /forums/images/graemlins/angryfire.gif

Don't know if your intent on a baby or not but I know in NY there are THOUSANDS of kids looking for adoption from newborns to teenagers. If your looking for a happy healthy bouncing baby it can take many many years. I have friends that went that route and after over 15 years they were still looking. They went through the state and were able to adopt a 2 year old girl that had some minor health problems and couldn't be happier. I added a link to a site that has photo-listings and descriptions of kids looking for homes al over the U.S. Hope it helps.

My wife has a lot of family down in OK so we'll keep our ears open.

Good luck in the process, and we'll keep you and your family in our prayers.
This is a very nobel thing you guys are trying to do!

Good luck to you are your wife. /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif This an awesome thing you are doing. I recently found out my mom was adopted. I have a good friend who was adopted, and she in turn has adopted a child. One thing, which it might be hard to do what I have seen... but I have heard a lot about overseas adoptions of children from countries like Romania. Might be something to look into. /forums/images/graemlins/thumb.gif

Very cool Daniel. I will surely keep on the lookout. Like Bryan said, I'm a little older than what you and the Mrs. are looking for, but I am willing to wear diapers and be bottle fed (Bud Light) /forums/images/graemlins/whistling.gif /forums/images/graemlins/histerical.gif j/k Best of luck /forums/images/graemlins/waytogo.gif

We just did adopt a child. our nephew in reality. His mother is a POS drugger. We've had him for about 15 month's now, and 2 week's ago today, he became our's legally.

He's a normal little 15 month old into everything, no drug related problem's at all. He did have pot in his bloodstream when he was born, but not any other problem's.
