    hey guys. my girl just called and said my k5 just all of a sudden died on the road. it did not sputter or anything, just died. she said the choke light came on. she also said that when it shut off, she could barely move the steering wheel. that is all the info i have. any ideas oplease???

    The easy guesses... fuel or ignition. Could be the module, could be a dead fuel pump, could of course, be a million other things. /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif

    Just need to figure out which of the two its not getting (fuel or spark) and then figure out why.

    COULD be a lot of stuff, but to die suddenly with no warning? When my 85 did that it was the ESC (Electronic Spark Control) behind the glove box.

    alternator? battery fall off tray? ignition, fuel pump...

    ok, after her meeting it started back up for a minute, tne died again.?????

    Check that there is fuel in the carb. Exact same symptoms when my fuel pump went out. Died once, sat, restarted, drove it for less than 5 minutes, died again, and that was it.

    If there is gas in the carb after it died, then it's not the fuel pump.

    well, i drove it to my buddies yesterday for a half hour without a hint of it dying. she ran strong, so i dont know what it is. my bid thinks we should change the ignition module to start. ill keep you updated! thanks guys
