HELP! chipped pinion!!!!!

    well about a month ago a picked up a 12 bolt 4:10 axle to replace my 10 bolt 3:08....today i finally took the cover off to find out one of the teeth on the pinion gear had about 1/4 or more of it missing! should i say screw it and drive it till it breaks or take the damn thing apart? anyone have a spare pinion they wanna give me?

    All terrains dont do well in mud

    I've seen people drive for years on that kinda stuff and have no problems. That kinda sucks. Is it a daily driver?
    If not I would just drive it and check the pan for more chunks often. You can always take off your driveshaft and drive home on the front (if you have a fixed yoke or a plug for the rear).
    If it is a daily driver I would have it repalced.
