I'm forced to park near a cottonwood tree. They drip sap and spew these little sticky seeds all over the place. The sap droplets stick to my hood and the seeds stick to my dog. Does anyone know what I can use to get this stuff off my truck and off the dog without hurting the paint on the truck or the hair on my dog? I tried Simple Green but it doesn't work... Stuff dries hard as a rock!

climb to the top - drill about 1/2 dozen sheet rock screws in the top- over the corse of about 6 months- the tree will rot and die- works great-

No, I can't do that... Not my tree... Wasn't my question...

How did I know that the very first answer would be to KILL THE TREE? /forums/images/graemlins/rotfl.gif

If I kill the tree it will fall on my trailer. I would also prolly be arrested for destruction of private property. Not to mention it's a very large tree and I wouldn't want to climb it...

That would be funny if you tried to climb it and the sap stuck to you and you dried to the tree. /forums/images/graemlins/rotfl.gif

You could always put a cover on the truck and a poncho on the dog. /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

Not looking for ways to keep the sap off. Looking for ways to REMOVE IT! The thing that really bothers me is the seeds that get stuck to the dogs underside. When I try to remove them it hurts the dog and she nips at me.

Are there any intelligent answers out there?

Just make sure your dog isn't a smoker. You know how dogs are these days......

Was told brass nails would do the same thing, but sheet rock screws huh?

[disclaimer] not that I would ever do such a thing to my neighbors[/disclaimer]
