Go to the local pound and I'm sure they'll have a list of rescues and what not around your area. To me that's the easiest place to start.

i went through the same thing you are! in MT no one has setters. you can get black labs all day. i also had an irish 20 years ago. when our malmute passed away we wanted we decided to get an irish. we got rawley from a breeder in colorado nancy king. www.redkingirishsetters.com nancy is also involved in irish setter rescue. give her a call she could get you in contact with a breeder closer to you! you can also do a google search on irish setter breeders? pic of rawley!:D

they do like to pose! we have an irish and a english "OTTO" my avatar pic is otto. what i like most about the setters is they are nice, our last dog you had to watch so wouldn't eat someone! i don't think the setters would ever bite anyone maybe mess their hair up licking it :D

Go to or call the vets around and ask them who around has or breeds them. Also if like in GA wheresupose to be liesened to sell more than a litter a year call the agriculture dept and ask who sells them. Stores have to be liesened anyway so still may help even if individuals don't.
