HELP HOOD CABLE

    anybody know a trick to get the hood open on a /forums/images/graemlins/burb.gif 85 burb
    just pulled the cable for the hood it felt like it broke

    I just looked at mine and it looks like the only way would be to take off the fender well and see if you can unlatch it or take out the grill and drill the two bolts holding the hood lock out. If you drill the bolts you could replace them with a bolt and a nut.

    you could try to reach in with a long screw driver and try pulling the cable out. pull it out so you can get a good grip on it and then cut it off after feeding through grill. (its what i did on my 90' s10.) it will take some pulling, but if it frayed and broke, it will come. its a temp fix but it'll work. good luck and i hope this helps. /forums/images/graemlins/thumb.gif
