My drishaft came apart when my yoke broke, and now i need to put it back together. it won't slide on easily, and it didn't used to come apart. i slide it on so the splines lined up then hit it a bit with a hammer and now it's semi stuck- do i just keep hitting it harder till it's back on right?
    thanks,

I believe it should slide in-n-out with ease, the shaft may be bent or the splines could be screwed up somehow? What happened when the yoke broke? How fast were you going?

I don't think it just slides in and out because I know that mine won't just pull apart. Maybe theres a snapring in there or something...

The seal on the end of the female part of the shaft is usually screwed onto the end of the shaft. Unscrew the seal first, drive it onto the male part of the shaft, then the shaft should slip together. However, if the splines got twisted as it came apart, even slightly, then you'll need to have the slip joint replaced. /forums/images/graemlins/frown.gif

Did you match up the master slines? They only go together a certain way for balance reasons.
