Help i have no lights 911

    Hello
    today i installed a set of driving lights,
    i didnt tie into my head lights
    and now i have no headlights or tail lights?
    i have turn signals and flashers
    thats it,all fuses are good
    in my book
    Haynes Repair Manual
    Chevrolet & GMC pickups
    1967 thru 1987
    doesnt show wich fuse they would be on or if there is a relay
    Please help
    this is a DD and i have to have em
    oh the lights i installed are Eclipse off road No.3232

    Did you have the battery disconnected when you did your install? What are you using for a switch on your new lights? You can look for a ground that got knocked off or a fuseable link may have burned.

    you may want to check the headlight switch. do your dash lights work?

    sounds like it gives you a reason to use your new lights.

    ops i forgot to unhok the battery /forums/images/graemlins/frown.gif
    the new light are wired onto a switch that came with em
    and they dont work either

    well i cant find any fusable links
    or bad grounds
    any way to check the light switch?

    The fuesible links are there, unless someone deleted them in the past. If so I would replace them ASAP. They look just like wire, so they may not be obvious. The question is where did you get 12 volts from to power your new lights? You can check the stock switch by looking for 12 volts on the big red wire going to it, either with a test light or voltmeter. It should have 12 volts all the time.

    i got it from a hot wire under the dash
    the used to goto a cb radio,
    brb il go check the red wire on the light switch
    man its cold out 32dergees
    where does the red wire go from the switch to what?
    BTW i undid everything i had done till i get this fixed

    ok i dont have 12volts or any volts on the red wire going to the switch

    and a specail thanks to Michael
    he helped me a little last night also
    traced it back to no volts on the red wire going to the switch,
    then found the wire broke under the hood
    i prolly pulled it apart last night not knowing i did it
