these heads came on 64-72 283s,307s and 327s. they are a base head with usually 1.71 and 1.50 valves. 72 or 76cc. not for high performance at all. 2 barrels on top of these always. hope this helps some.

i tried looking up the numbers you gave and i didnt find any info. the number needed is the 3 digit number on the edge between the domes and the exhaust ports (in the center i think). if they are 327 heads they should have a 040,041,126,186,441,461, or 462 stamped on them! chamber volume as follows: 64cc found on 040,041,186,462 76cc found on 126,441 and 62cc found on 461

If the numbers are correct, he's got 896 heads. It's the last 3 of the P/N. For example, *uuuh*..392717186...*uhhh - thump* that woul be a 186 head (for the record, not Super H.perf, but not a bad head at all)

So, you guy's looking at the books, check out the number 896. That should also be located under the number 2 or 5 intake runner. and the number should be spelled out completly under the valve cover.

    3795896 used on:
    '63 - '67 283
    ''68 - '72 307

E264 is May 26, 1964 casting date - heads were on a '64 283. As noted earlier, small valve heads, not good for performance.
