    Hey everyone,
If anyone works for a company, or knows of one, in the Boulder/Longmont/Surrounding Colorado area that is in need of a geek help me out. I'm graduating from college with degrees in Computer Science, and Math. I have many other classes and a minor in Management Information Systems. I have 9 years of combined experience working as a computer technician (since I was 16, now I'm 25) and the last 5 years of that has been in an enterprise level IT (Information Technology = computer dept.). I'm having a lot of trouble networking with people in Colorado because I'm in Ohio. And I think some places don't take me serious because I'm so far away. So if you know anything or anyone that may be able to help out a fellow CK5'er, let me know.

    Thanks!

I'm a mechanic...so I can't really help you out. Do some searches online or post your resume on monster. That's how I got my job.

Yeah, I've been doing that as well. It's always good to have the inside scoop from someone though. I read somewhere (and I realize statistics lie sometimes) that like 2/3 of people get their job by networking with people and getting the inside track from them. So if anyone knows anything, and would offer me a lead, I would be most appreciative. Plus you could always use another trail buddy right? Of course! :D

    Check out Colorado4x4.org.

There's a Help Wanted and Job Wanted section even.

I'll check it out, I registered, but now I'm waiting on the confirmation email to come (been an hour??).

Any other suggestions anyone? Someone on here has to know something.

Make sure the confirmation didn't go into your junk/spam bin! Mine went in there, but I knew where to look for it....and yes, could always use another wheeler here... :D

Ok, I reregistered with a different email and it came right away (and it was not in my spam box on the other, I even resent it). I've already got a couple leads on cool jobs. Thanks.

Does anyone over here have any leads for me?

Maxtor has a regional office there...

Not sure if you want to get into the HDD racket, but I might have a couple of contacts there if you do.

Check the Employment Opportunities section for anything interesting (How about a VP of Sales & Operations?! :D )

Yes, I do. I have actually applied to a couple of jobs there, and at Seagate, already. So if you have some contacts there it would be much appreciated.

I checked out that site, and will continue to watch it. There wasn't really too much for a geek. The only thing I could find on it was a job for a Truss Engineer, for a company, designing complex truss and flooring systems for buildings. Sounds pretty cool and I have drafting experience too. Thanks for the help.

    Keep the ideas coming. :wink1:
