Okay, here's the deal. I need to name my rig. Okay. I WANNA name my rig! But I am not always too terribly creative. So I am asking for your input. But there are some ground rules...

    1. It is going to go on the truck, so it must be something I don't mind people seeing when it is in my church's parking lot.
    2. Can't be too long, again, as it is going on the rig.

Well, guess that may be it.

Suggestions so far that WON'T be going on the rig include:
    NOT COMPENSATING or NO COMPENSATION
    SIZE MATTERS
GAY MAN'S CHEVY (little play on GMC the local Toyota guys liked - don't worry, I ran over them later)

One of my favorites so far is:
    OOMPA LOOMPA

    Your turn!

Paint it bright green and slap a big black "Jiminy Cricket" across the hood. Get it, Jimmy--Jiminy?!?!?!
Oh, man, that was pathetic - sorry guys. /forums/images/graemlins/smirk.gif /forums/images/graemlins/rotfl.gif

WAIT, check that - it's actually a rather good idea. I just did a quick search on Google for "Jiminy" to make sure I had the spelling right...and LOOK WHAT I FOUND:
    [ QUOTE ]
Jiminy Cricket's Environmentality Challenge provides an opportunity for your class and all other fifth grade classes in the State of California to "think green." It's a challenging and fun hands-on experience that will help fifth graders learn more about their environment and the State of California and show them why "it's cool to care" about the earth. The purpose is to encourage students to think and act environmentally at school, at home, and in their community. The program is the result of a unique partnership between Disney and the California's Environmental Education Interagency Network (CEEIN) and the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service.

How great is that, your huge-a$$, bright-green Jimmy sucking gas and being "environmentally friendly."

as much as i luv my rig, I honestly dont know why peeps name them. I guess I look at my rig as a machine or tool. I dont have a name for my favorite hammer... or my angle grinder etc, so why my rig? "my truck", "the rig", or "my jimmy" has always worked a-ok for me. Not trying to be a party pooper or anything, i just dont understand it is all. /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif My rig brings me lots of joy... I doubt, if I gave it another name, that that amount of joy would somehow increase... so... why bother? just a question! /forums/images/graemlins/frown.gif

My reasoning is fairly simple. I have been running the CK5 logo across my windshield for quite some time. And I feel as though it has paid dividends for Steve (considering it is in almost every Four Wheeler magazine). But it is time for a change across the front. That change will probably accompany the new paint job going on late-Spring, early-Summer. I will still have CK5 on my rig, just not at the top of the windshield. So I need a cute name/slogan/whatever that I can get stamped across the top for all the world to see!

As far as I am concerned, he will always be my bud 'til the end of time!

Vision offroad is SO overrated! I am the kind of guy that doesn't like too much flashy stuff like stickers and so forth, but I have never had my vision impeded by the CK5 sticker I have been running. So now it is time to personalize this sucker.

All my advertising stickers of all the parts and so forth are on my tool box. The ONLY stickers I run are my club, CK5, and my rig's name (will). I figure sticking the Edelbrock, Hooker, Optima, Warn, Comp Cams, etc stickers all over it simply advertise for thieves.

good point on stickers... they are pretty much for the racing (gotta give something back to sponsors!) or the ricer crowd. I dont think i have a single sticker on my rig.... except the WTO one on my steering box.... and I didnt put that one on, WTO did. /forums/images/graemlins/frown.gif I guess I'll shush now... i dont have a problem with peeps namin their rigs, its up to them.. i was just sayin that I dont understand it. /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif

mines named "The Beast" after the movie made about the Russian tank. I love that movie and my truck seems to be pretty solid so I just call it that.

I'm thinkin' "FRED", oh wait I tried that name b4 and it didn't stick then either......

My yota is called "Patch" because it's now the sum of 3 trucks. The Suburban is "the Sub" because nearly everyone else calls theirs a "Burb". Somehow "my rig" sounds like you're talking about a KW or a Peterbilt.

I've a friend, MISF, who names every vehicle he owns.
"Jethro" was his '57 Chevy truck
"Betty Lou" is his '65 442
"Charlotte" ("the harlot" when she's misbehaving) is his Gran Prix
"Harvey" is his Scout. Get it ?
"Rusty" was his 3/4 IH 4x4 p'up, because he was.
