Ok after the first of the year with tax returns and my anual bonus from work I'm researching what to spend it on.
    Please help me decide.....

I have 3.73s and my front Dana44 is an open diff. So how about R&P front and back too 4.10 and Dana Power-Lok for the front with ORD axel shafts.

Launch my 383 Stroker build by perchasing eather a custome built short block or a fully assembled GM Crate motor or finding a donor engine and get the machine work done.(my current 350 is running fine)

Warn HS9500i (will need to modify the winch bumper first)

Help me put thease projects in order [IMG].
This money I don't have yet is allready burning a hole in my pocket[IMG]

Stroker first! Enough horsepower and the gear ratio won't matter[IMG] Then when you have enough power to get real stuck buy the winch![IMG]

If I were you, I would do those things in this order:

    axleshafts
    383
    HS9500i
    gears/powerlock

Like TRusty said, with enough power the gears wont matter much. And the jump from 3.73 to 4.10 isn't much either.

Although Winches are nice and you dont have to worry about getting stuck much!

Just remember...tooo much power, and you'll NEED new gears![IMG] If the rest of the drive train can handle the power, then go for the stroker. Then you can sell the 350 to help pay for the gears.[IMG][IMG] I'm happy with my crate motor, but I HAD to go that route. My old 350 gave out before I had the funds for the BIG BLOCK I wanted. Good luck with whatever project you go with!

Go to www.beckracingengines.com and spend your money there. Not a day goes by that I don't dream of having one of their 406's in my Blazer.

They only give a 90 day waranty on their engines. You would think it would be much much longer. Especially for the price.

I think it said in the brochure they sent me that they've never had an engine returned though. Sounds good enough for me.

personally, I'd do motor, gears, than the winch. A 383 sounds very nice.............js

So far the Stroker is winning!
    Warn HS9500i is second
    Axels
then the gears and power lock...

I am starting the ruff draft on my rookie blueprint plans for this 383 build up......
so far it looks like i'm gonna get a shortblock and build the valvetrain myself useing an array of matched parts!
I'll take notes and some snap shots to go with it to help share the experiance with ya'all.........
