Ok guys, its shopping time. I have a bone stock 85 K5 that has a bad 305. The interior has been redone already, new seats, dash and Hurculined. I have $4000 from my bonus at work that I can spend making this /forums/images/graemlins/k5.gif right.

    Parts I already have:

Dana 60 and 14 bolt FF
35/12.5/16.5 BFG MTs on 16.5 by 9.75 589's or 305/75/16 Pro Comp MTs but no wheels yet.

Please give lists with prices if you can.

    Thanks guys!

What are you going to use your rig for? DD, mud, rocks, dunes??? Will you do the work yourself or pay a shop to do it? Sounds like you are getting ready to have some fun /forums/images/graemlins/thumb.gif

Use the 16's and not the 16.5's, hold bead better aired down. If I had 4 grand and already had those axles and tires I would: regear if necessary, buy cheaper stock rebuilt 350, new replacement exhaust with bigger tubing and flowmaster, and a four inch lift. Tires may be fine, but some guys cut fenders /forums/images/graemlins/hack.gif. I'm not sure where you live, but here I could get engine for less than a grand , lift for 400-500 (better than cheapo) and rims for like 50 each, exhaust for like 300 installed made from scratch plus price of flowmaster. Would leave you with change if your careful /forums/images/graemlins/waytogo.gif

It will be a sometimes daily driver, trail rig and camping rig... It will see about 50% of its life on the street.

Sorry I forgot that in my first post.

Since you want to use it for street and trail I'd definately get it mechanically sound. New 350 crate motor, new radiator and add a big tranny cooler. Put a detroit locker in the 14FF and go with a doubler so you can cruise on the highway and have a good slow crawl offroad. If ya got any $$$ left go with a front locker. Have fun /forums/images/graemlins/thumb.gif
