Long story short, I just got my truck back from the tranny shop after it sitting there for a month and a half. I crawled under it to look at the work and found that they had put a plastic flywheel cover on instead of the heavy cast aluminum one with support braces on it that it had when I took it in. The truck is an 85 K20 /forums/images/graemlins/burb.gif, 6.2, np208. I need to know if they are trying to stick it to me.

You want to get the cast aluminum one back in as soon as possible!
The tranny will torque more without that on.
When I bought my Blazer, it was not there.
I put a mini starter on and when I would put my foot in it, the flywheel would clip the starter teeth. I put the cast cover and braces on, no more problem.

    But I was running a 203...
With all the weight the trans had to support...
eventually I broke the belhousing on the trans...
    from JUMPING my truck...

If your wheeling your truck...the same thing could happen.

It was there when you took it to them, it should be there when you get it back, regardless of whether it is "functional" or not.

most definetally should be there, they replaced what I am guessing is a fairly expensive part with a piece of cheap plastic without notifying you, thats stealing in my book, probably would be in the eyes of the better business bureau or the police as well.

    A little history

The only exception is that they didn't build a case for a diesel, they built one for a gasser which means the case is thinner and the aluminum cover doesn't bolt up. /forums/images/graemlins/angryfire.gif /forums/images/graemlins/angryfire.gif /forums/images/graemlins/angryfire.gif /forums/images/graemlins/angryfire.gif

I am going to duke it out this afternoon
