    hey there all,
here's one for ya. just mounted a ball mount and spring on my rear quarter panel for my 102" whip. hooked everything up and i can't recieve farther from or transmit any further then like 100 yards. i checked the radio with a mag-mount and the radio works fine, so it must be the antenna. i've mounted one of these before with no trouble, my thoughts are the large center hole is not big enough and the antenna post is touching the body, or maybe i should of stripped the center of the coax further back to be mounted to the center post intstead of crimping it on with the clear shield still on.....
any other thoughts? i'd like as much input as possible before i open her back up!
    thanks!

I would meter the ground, make sure it's less than 1/2 ohm all the way back to the battery. HTH

i think the prob is fixed, thing was the center hole wasn't large enough and when the large washer and nut were on they were touching the body and it was grounding itself out i guess, with the larger hole i def. get a lot better reception as of yesterday, still gotta test transmission though......
    thanks and peace.
