help on my 10bolt

    recently bought an 84 k5 with a 10 bolt rearend, upon removing the rear brakes I found I need to replace the wheel bearing seals at the minimum, only problem is I cannot get the axles out, I cannot get the pin from the carrier to get the c-clips out,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,any help?

    as long as you removed the bolt that holds the carrier pin in it should come out. You may try pulling out on each of the axel shafts to release any tension on the pin. If that dont work use a piece of pipe just smaller than the pin and place it at one end of the carrier where the end of the pin is located then beat it with a hammer till it comes free or you break the whole darn thing..then you have an excuse to get a 14FF

    did the bolt pin break off? or is the cross pin damaged?

    your right. I don't understand the jeep thing!

    A lot of times, the retaining bolt will break, and part of it stays in the hole. Look at the piece you took out closely, and see if the end is broken off.
